Paryavaran Aayog is launching the Summer Eco-Warden certification course for university and school students to act as community level environmental watchdogs.

"Equipping the youth with legal and ecological tools is our most vital education drive. Trained Eco-Wardens are the eyes and ears of our foresters, safeguarding local environment norms."

Roles and Responsibilities

Trained Eco-Wardens will be equipped to identify micro-pollution sources, illegal industrial wastewater dumping, and educate communities on waste segregation, acting as a direct bridge to our vigilance officers.

This hands-on program helps youngsters build legal and practical ecological wisdom while collecting certifications that enhance their professional paths as environmental leaders.

Training Modules:

  • Law & Constitution: Air Act 1981, Water Act 1974, and constitutional DPSP rights (Article 48A).
  • Micro-pollution Detection: Standard techniques to detect waste burning, industrial smoke release, and pond dumping.
  • Community Leadership: Direct methodologies to set up school eco-clubs and organize plastic audits.
  • Online Reporting Portal: Dynamic use of the Aayog's online dashboard to dispatch inspection details.

Building Community Legal Literacy

A core focus of the program is legal literacy. Volunteers learn how to draft formal petitions, use our portal to submit photographic evidence of toxic leaks, and map illegal felling sites using basic open-source geospatial tools. This makes youth leaders highly autonomous and scientifically precise.

Eco-Warden Training: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Are there offline sessions during the training course?

Yes, while primary curriculum modules are hosted online, weekend practical labs are conducted at our regional state hubs to practice soil and water sampling checks.

Q2: How does a certified student report local violations?

Certified wardens receive a dedicated dashboard log, bypassing standard queues and alerting the field forester patrol truck instantly.

How to Apply

Students between the ages of 16 and 25 are invited to submit their application forms under the Volunteer desk. The certification is absolutely free of charge and qualifies participants for direct field internship modules.
